In addition to the fine sand and the characteristic architecture on the sea, Caorle preserves hidden wonders not far from its beaches. The lagoon area that surrounds the city, with its natural oases, of Brussa and Vallevecchia, the characteristic ancient Casoni, in the past inhabited by fishermen, and the great biodiversity captured the heart of Hemingway in the last century; in the lagoon areas, the writer set his masterpiece “Across the river and into the trees”.
