The Islands of Spirituality in Venice from Fusina

from € 75

- Proposed by: Delta Tour Navigazione Turistica

Unusual places in the Venetian lagoon: the Armenian island, the island of San Francesco del Deserto and Torcello, solitary monasteries, centers of intense spirituality.

Leaving from Fusina by motorboat, visit three pearls of the Venice lagoon. Tradition has it that St. Francis of Assisi stopped on the island now known as "San Francesco del Deserto" when he passed through Venice. The island today hosts a settlement of minor friars of the order of San Francesco. A convent immersed in the greenery of nature surrounded by the water of the lagoon. The island of the Armenians, or San Lazzaro degli armeni, today houses one of the most important centers for the conservation of Armenian culture. The island of Torcello hosts the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, whose optional visit allows you to appreciate the "Veneto-Byzantine", a characteristic style of many buildings in the Venice lagoon. A day with a guide, by motorboat and fish-based lunch on board
